Rena Schwartz

Psychotherapy Intern

She/Her

Prior to joining The Parent and Family Wellness Center, Rena interned at a community mental health center, where she co-facilitated therapeutic groups and provided supportive counseling and case management for adults. During this time, she received training in multiple therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Before beginning her Master’s in Clinical Social Work at Smith College, Rena worked at both national and state-level reproductive health training centers, deepening her commitment to advancing equity and access in healthcare.

Rena’s clinical approach is relational and grounded in psychodynamic theory and an understanding that personal challenges don’t exist in isolation but are shaped by both our relationships and larger systems of oppression. She believes therapy can be a space where people feel understood, empowered, and better able to navigate both personal and systemic barriers. She collaborates closely with clients to recognize their strengths, explore patterns, and connect with resources that support growth and healing.

Rena is passionate about the outdoors and finds grounding through cooking, writing, and spending time on long adventures in the mountains.
