Rachel earned her Master of Arts in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Colorado Denver. During graduate school, she gained experience working with clients at the university counseling center and later at a group practice serving children, adolescents, and caregivers.

It was through this work that Rachel's passion for supporting caregivers truly emerged. She views caregivers as the heart of the family system and believes that when caregivers feel supported, empowered, and connected, the entire family benefits. She is especially passionate about helping caregivers recognize their strengths, build confidence, and cultivate meaningful relationships within their families.

Rachel's clinical approach is rooted in feminist theory, emphasizing collaborative and egalitarian therapeutic relationships. She strives to create a space where clients can explore their experiences while acknowledging the impact of larger systems, cultural influences, and societal expectations on their lives.

She also draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients better understand the different parts of themselves that have developed throughout life's challenges. Through Narrative Therapy, she supports clients in exploring and reshaping the stories they tell about themselves, while Attachment Theory helps guide work around building greater relational safety, connection, and trust.

Above all, Rachel believes that strong therapeutic relationships are built on compassion, empathy, creativity, authenticity, and a little humor. She values creating a supportive environment where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to move toward the life they want to create.

Outside of the therapy room, Rachel enjoys daily walks with her two rescue dogs, spending time in nature, attending dance classes, and working on her latest Pinterest-inspired DIY project.

The first step to beginning care at Parent & Family Wellness Center is scheduling an intake appointment with one of our intake clinicians. During this appointment, they will take time to better understand your needs, goals, preferences, and areas of support so they can thoughtfully help match you with the best-fit therapist.

If you feel especially drawn to Rachel, you are always welcome to mention that during your intake appointment. If appropriate and availability allows, we will always do our best to honor those preferences.

We offer both in-person therapy in Boulder and virtual therapy throughout Colorado.
