Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Miranda worked as a registered nurse in Labor & Delivery and women's health, caring for individuals and families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. These experiences deepened her appreciation for the connection between emotional wellbeing and physical health and inspired her passion for reproductive psychiatry.
Miranda earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from Valdosta State University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University.
Her clinical experience includes outpatient psychiatry across the lifespan, supporting children, adolescents, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma-related disorders, and other mental health conditions. She has a special interest in helping individuals navigate fertility concerns, pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, pregnancy loss, infertility, and other reproductive mental health experiences.
Miranda's approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the understanding that effective psychiatric care begins with listening. She values partnering with each patient to develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that may include medication management, education, and practical lifestyle strategies to support lasting emotional wellness.
She believes that meaningful care is built on trust and strives to create an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment. She also values collaboration with therapists, primary care providers, OB/GYNs, pediatricians, and other members of a patient's healthcare team to provide coordinated, comprehensive care.
Outside of work, Miranda enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. Whether traveling, spending time outdoors, or making memories with family and friends, she values the importance of balance, connection, and the relationships that enrich everyday life.
