Devan Sandstrom

Psychotherapy Intern

She/Her

Devan is currently pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado State University and is deeply passionate about walking alongside mothers and families during some of life’s most tender and challenging seasons. With a heart for those navigating infant grief and loss, reproductive and infertility struggles, and the feelings that come through in the perinatal period, she is committed to creating a space where clients feel understood, supported, and never alone in their journey.

Grounded in a person-centered approach, Devan views therapy as a collaborative process. She believes that healing begins in a safe, compassionate relationship where clients can share their stories at their own pace. She weaves in mindfulness practices to help clients connect more deeply with themselves and with the present moment. Devan also brings knowledge and compassion from her work in various roles, especially her experience as a lactation counselor, which has deepened her understanding of the unique challenges and strengths of the perinatal journey.

Devan often reminds clients that the small things matter: a pause to breathe, a quiet moment of connection, or a step toward self-compassion because over time, those small things can lead to the most meaningful and lasting changes. Her goal is to help clients discover hope, resilience, and empowerment, even when the path feels uncertain.

Outside of her professional life, Devan values self-care and connection with the world around her. She enjoys hiking in nature, spending time with her dog Rudder, dancing, cooking, and driving to the mountains for coffee. These practices not only restore her energy but also keep her grounded in the same mindfulness and balance she encourages her clients to cultivate.
