Brittany Kurtz, LCSW
Senior Supervising Psychotherapist
She, Her, Hers
Individual Psychotherapy fee $208. Couples fee $230.
Brittany Kurtz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both Colorado and Wyoming, and comes to Parent & Family Wellness Center as a specialized trauma therapist. She takes a holistic approach, integrating both bottom-up and top-down strategies to meet clients where they are and support them towards the next phase of their healing.
Brittany takes an approach that prioritizes nervous system attunement, and incorporates this into her work across various modalities: EMDR therapy, Internal Family System (IFS) or “parts work,” Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and psychosomatic tools are some of her favorites. She views therapists and other health care providers as catalysts for the powerful work that occurs in therapy, the ultimate source of which resides within each client. She believes that her clients are the experts of their own healing, and is honored for each invitation to walk alongside them. Though she specializes in treating complex trauma (including grief, spiritual/religious abuse, and trafficking), she also has experience in supporting clients who live with chronic illness and mind/body disconnection, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Prior to joining the team at Parent & Family Wellness Center, Brittany worked in group and private practice settings, building a strong foundation in outpatient clinical care. She also served as the Clinical Lead at a residential center for survivors of trafficking, and has worked on integrative teams, prioritizing strategic planning to expand mental health care in rural areas. She views social justice and mezzo/macro advocacy as crucial components of the therapy process. Following her own experiences with a difficult pregnancy and her passion for treating trauma, Brittany ventured into the perinatal health realm in an effort to honor the similarities between prevention and response in these two areas. Above all, Brittany believes in seeing to the heart of her clients and empowering their healing from the inside-out.
When not working, Brittany deeply values the power of intentional rest. She enjoys a good book and time for expressive creativity. After completing school in her home state of Missouri, she spent time in Jackson, WY and in Boston, before settling in Boulder, CO with her husband, their daughter, and their two cats.
