Amaya Mensinger
Psychotherapy Intern
She/Her
Inspired by Transpersonal, Somatic, Nature-Based and Trauma-Informed psychotherapeutic lenses and approaches, the creative and expressive arts, as well as Gestalt psychotherapy, Amaya values co-creating safe landing spaces with clients which stimulate their most authentic and wise parts of self to come into contemplative communication with what is moving through the system during observation of present moment awareness. She believes in the power of intuition and the development of self-trust, deep witnessing as means for birthing real-world applicable solutions.
Amaya values intrapersonal awareness, self-knowledge and the cultivation of joy within the framework of self-responsibility as prerequisites for building relational skills which allow for more holism and integration in parental, familial, romantic and platonic relationships, and is passionate about psychoeducation around communication skill building.
With her background enriched by her upbringing as the daughter of a practicing child-birth doula and volunteer for numerous women’s empowerment organizations, Amaya has always held a special interest in women’s prenatal and post-partum holistic health, family systems, parenting and parent-child dynamics. She draws from 15 years of experience caring for children and has worked extensively in Early Childhood Education settings which integrate RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers), Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf principles. She holds a profound reverence for learning the unique ways to celebrate and honor the individual gifts of each child, guiding them towards self-discovery and their natural growth curve.
In her free time, Amaya enjoys rugged international travel and cultural enrichment, meditation, journeying, art, dance, interior decorating, and hosting and hosting and being a part of ritual gatherings and ceremonies.
