Inspired by transpersonal, somatic, nature-based, and trauma-informed approaches, Amaya values creating therapeutic spaces where clients can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and develop greater awareness of what is happening within their minds, bodies, and relationships.
She believes in the power of intuition, self-trust, and deep witnessing as pathways toward meaningful change. Through present-moment awareness and compassionate exploration, Amaya helps clients uncover practical, real-world solutions that align with their values and lived experiences.
A central theme in Amaya's work is the belief that healthy relationships begin with self-awareness. She is passionate about helping clients develop communication skills, strengthen emotional insight, and cultivate healthier connections within parental, familial, romantic, and platonic relationships.
Amaya's lifelong interest in family wellbeing was shaped in part by her upbringing as the daughter of a practicing childbirth doula and her involvement with women's empowerment organizations. These experiences fostered a deep appreciation for women's prenatal and postpartum health, parenting, family systems, and the many transitions that families navigate throughout life.
Drawing from more than 15 years of experience caring for children, Amaya has worked extensively in early childhood education settings influenced by RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers), Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and Waldorf philosophies. She holds a deep respect for child development and believes every child possesses unique strengths, gifts, and pathways toward growth and self-discovery.
Amaya approaches her work with curiosity, compassion, and a profound respect for each person's individual journey. She feels honored to support clients as they move toward greater connection, healing, and wholeness.
Outside of the therapy room, Amaya enjoys international travel, cultural exploration, meditation, art, dance, interior decorating, and participating in meaningful community gatherings and ceremonies.

The first step to beginning care at Parent & Family Wellness Center is scheduling an intake appointment with one of our intake clinicians. During this appointment, they will take time to better understand your needs, goals, preferences, and areas of support so they can thoughtfully help match you with the best-fit therapist.
If you feel especially drawn to Amaya, you are always welcome to mention that during your intake appointment. If appropriate and availability allows, we will always do our best to honor those preferences.
We offer both in-person therapy in Boulder and virtual therapy throughout Colorado.
