Micah Johnson is a current student at Naropa University in their Transpersonal Art Therapy program. They are a firm believer in the creative process as a pathway to healing and transformation. Micah utilizes a client-centered approach in order to invite brave spaces for authenticity and self-exploration. Their dynamic approaches in the therapeutic relationship holds a holistic perspective of the individual, balancing the many layers and parts of the self that wish to be witnessed and expressed.
Micah's passion for supporting families and the perinatal community is rooted in the many dynamic ways we live and grow together. Not one family is the same, and there are many factors that influence how we show up with our loved ones and ourselves. With this, Micah offers empathetic support, compassion, and creative perspectives with their clients. Micah believes in the power of supporting marginalized voices. Micah holds that our diversity is our strength and that our story is a gift to our communities.
Micah has previous experience in the education system as an art educator and school counselor for various institutions. They have supported classrooms, mindfulness based groups, and individual counseling with children in Pre-K all the way through High School.
Micah’s commitment to self-care includes painting, dancing, exploring the outdoors, and sharing time with their kittens.
